An amazing, touching story which talks a lot about death but still manages to make you smile! I had no idea what to expect when I started reading it. It appeared on my feed and then the next thing I know is that I am reading this book. The blurb might look simple; A story of a girl who is suddenly being told that her grandmother is ill and has decided to take the entire family to a 'death with dignity' cruise ship. But what it doesn't tell is how the family is full of crazy and lovable people and how amazingly the idea of death is being handled in this book. It's Carrie Firestone's debut novel, and she has done a great job with it! 

The first thing that comes to mind when you think of death is sadness, but after reading this book I'm sure you won't feel that way.  The story is very refreshing despite having very serious and emotional moments in it. Since it's a 'death with dignity' cruise ship, you'll find a lot of ill people and their family, who are on the same journey as Maddie.

Review: The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly

“Growing up, I believed in miracles. I guess I don’t anymore.” 

Let me start off by saying that while I knew that this book was going to be intense, I had no idea it would be so horrific yet brilliantly written. Yes, I loved the poetic writing, and yes, I was sick with disgust while reading some part of the books. If you like horror and can read through the things I am going to mention: Just read this book.

"I am deserving because even after everything, I'm still hopeful. The people who hurt me couldn't kill my spirit. I'm dreaming still. See me, right now? Dreaming. And, given everything, that's pretty wonderful."

It's a story of a girl named Minnow Bly who was raised in a religious community known as Kevinian cult. Well, to be honest, the Prophet - whom the whole community followed - was a crazy, twisted person. The things he made people believe in were just ridiculous. The people in the community are brainwashed and believes anything the Prophet says.

I started collecting books over a year ago, so my collection has reached to about 200 books right now.

Currently my favorite genre is YA/Fantasy.

Yes, I definitely have had thoughts about writing a book. In fact, I also remember starting a book and had even written few chapters. But that story never got its end :P

Review: The Boy With Words by C.E. Wilson

I had no idea what this book was about when I started reading it. I always make sure to check other reviews/blurb before reading any book, but this time I just started reading it without any expectations and any knowledge of the plot. And this book turned out to be a great fun read! The story was surprisingly good with some refreshing ideas.

In the beginning, I had this weird thought that this book was going to turn very serious. I mean they were talking about creator and people not allowed to go in the outside world. Because why else would they be all secretive and dangerous? And no one had seen skies, or basically anything other than where they live. They didn't know anything! It was difficult to believe that anything like this existed, and on top of that, there was a threat of some 'Creator'. What came after that was a real shocker!! They weren't normal beings, they were tiny. And by tiny, I mean about 6 inches. So that was the reason they couldn't go outside and only few selected people who were strong enough we allowed to go into the real world to bring back the things they needed to survive.

Review: The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

Okay, so now that The Last Star is released, it was about time I read this book. Honestly, I didn't love this book as much as The 5th Wave, but I still enjoyed it. I think I loved the first book more because the plot was more mysterious and interesting than this one, and now that all the identities are revealed, it seemed like there wouldn't be much to read in this book, but I was so wrong! The Infinite Sea is terrific and amazingly written. I admit that the first few pages were very slow, but when the book picked up the pace, it was a complete roller coaster, and a good one at that.


The story picks up exactly where the first book left. While the first book had a lot of actions, drama, revelation of secrets, and then that climax, this book was relatively slow. But that doesn't mean it wasn't good, it just focused more on the the character developments and the overall plot. Still there are many things which are left unanswered, especially about the aliens because there's still no clear explanation for that, and I am really looking forward to see how everything ends.

Oh my god, guys! *shaking my head and wondering why I didn't read this book sooner*  I know I am going to get a lot of "I told you so" looks because just look around yourself( or in this case, around Internet) every one has been talking about this series, but this book was just too good!! I can say that this series might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it worked for me. If you guys haven't read it yet(which I highly doubt), jump on the bandwagon and read this book!! I promise you won't be disappointed!! I don't really get this much excited about a book, but when there are four guys in a book *swoons* and a mysterious plot, it's pretty hard not to get all excited about it!

Okay, now coming onto the story, I wasn't really a fan in the beginning. I mean, I instantly liked the characters, but the story? It was....slow. I couldn't get into the story, and all the ley line mysteries just confused me more. But after a while, the story started to unfold and finally gave more explanation about the ley lines, which pulled me in and after that I only remember pages flying and then reaching to the end of the book. No, really. I did finish 70% of the book in one sitting.  I am not going to explain the story, because who am I kidding? You guys already know that, but I'd like to say that I loved this adventurous journey, and more importantly, I loved the characters.
