Top 5 Books To Read During Quarantine!

Every book you read transports you to a fascinating fictional world. Well, let’s just agree that life would be too boring without fairytales, dragons and some magic. Whether it’s Cinderella’s lost shoe or Harry Potter’s wand, we all fell a little in love with these stories. Well, amidst all these stories that we read, some leaves a major impact on our lives. Today, I’m going to share 5 books that are very special to me. These books aren’t from one single genre, but they’re art of work and should be read by everyone!

#1 Harry Potter
Is there anything about Harry Potter that hasn’t been said already? Well, this is one of the series that can be read by kids as well as adults. Set in a fictional world, this magical series will touch your hearts with its compelling storyline and characters. This is a great book to start with if you’ve just gotten into reading as it will surely make you fall in love with it! Harry Potter is hands down my all time favorite which I recommended to everyone.

#2 The Book Thief
This one is quite intense, to be honest. Set back in the time of WWII. The most intriguing part of this book is its narrator – Death. Yes, this book is narrated by Death, and I tell you, I can’t get more exciting than this. The Book Thief follows a story of a girl, Liesel Meminger, who comes to live with her foster parents and her experience during the Nazi Germany war. It also shows her resilience and determination towards reading new words and books with the help of her father. This book is the epitome of power of words. The story being narrated by death itself, it’s truly a memorable read about love, loss, strength and compassion.

#3 Me Before You
Me Before You is a book that every romance lover would enjoy. If you loved The Notebook or The Fault in Our Stars, well then you’ve gotta read this one! It revolves around an independent woman, Louisa, who takes up a job of looking after a paralyzed man, Will Traynor. It’s a beautiful and emotional love story of two strangers who become lovers under unusual circumstances. If you’re looking for a feel good and slightly emotional love story, this one’s for you!

#4 The Martian
The Martian is about a man who is stranded on Mars and find ways to cope with the uncertain atmosphere and limited resources. Mark Watney, the narrator’s humor and charm will certainly blow your mind! His charismatic personality will hook you till the end. While we go along with Mark on his journey, there’s also a danger looming; limited food resources and ways to connect to earth – will he find his way back? Is there a way he can be rescued? Well, all answers to these questions can be found in the book! So, what are you waiting for? Go and grab The Martian

#5 IKIGAI
This is something out of my comfort zone – Non Fiction. Until this year, I had only read Fiction novels. But this book caught my attention from the very first sight. The name didn’t make sense to me, but the line below it – The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life – really intrigued me. In the era where we’re constantly surrounded by stress and busy schedule (not right now though, since we’re all quarantining), I thought it would be interesting to read this book. The writing style of IKIGAI is fairly simple, which makes it an even better and helpful read. It states simple and adaptable ways to live a longer and happier life. Moreover, it includes the lifestyle of Japanese people and how they’ve found their ikigai – purpose in life. If you implement only a few tips from this book, you’d get a headstart towards improving your life.
