Review: The Raven Boys

Review

Oh my god, guys! *shaking my head and wondering why I didn't read this book sooner*  I know I am going to get a lot of "I told you so" looks because just look around yourself( or in this case, around Internet) every one has been talking about this series, but this book was just too good!! I can say that this series might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it worked for me. If you guys haven't read it yet(which I highly doubt), jump on the bandwagon and read this book!! I promise you won't be disappointed!! I don't really get this much excited about a book, but when there are four guys in a book *swoons* and a mysterious plot, it's pretty hard not to get all excited about it!

* no spoilers*

Okay, now coming onto the story, I wasn't really a fan in the beginning. I mean, I instantly liked the characters, but the story? It was....slow. I couldn't get into the story, and all the ley line mysteries just confused me more. But after a while, the story started to unfold and finally gave more explanation about the ley lines, which pulled me in and after that I only remember pages flying and then reaching to the end of the book. No, really. I did finish 70% of the book in one sitting.  I am not going to explain the story, because who am I kidding? You guys already know that, but I'd like to say that I loved this adventurous journey, and more importantly, I loved the characters.

I'd never thought it was possible to like so many characters in a book, but I was proven wrong by this book because I love each character in it. Also Chainsaw. Yes, I also consider her as a very important part of the story. Because Ronan.  I was laughing half of the time because of Ronan's sarcastic comments. I've always loved characters who are very secretive and silent, yet witty and enjoyable, and that is exactly what  Ronan is.

“We have to be back in three hours," Ronan said. "I just fed Chainsaw but she'll need it again."

"This," Gansey replied "is precisely why I didn't want to have a baby with you.”

I actually laughed out loud at the above conversation! These guys are adorable!<3

 Gansey - I really like him. He cares about everyone and is a kind of  person anyone would want to get to know. Then there are other two boys, Adam and Noah. Well, I liked Adam, but he also got on my nerves a few times. His character is brilliantly written, and I am looking forward to see how his character develops in the next book of the series.  But, I want to say that I adore him very much.  And Noah, I will love him forever.

Another amazing character was of Blue. I was surprised to find out how much I liked her character after finishing the book. While reading the book, there were very less moments where I'd have thought that Blue is a great character, but now that I think about it, she was the most important part of the story, and many things wouldn't have happened without her. I also liked the side characters. Especially the women in Blue's house. Living with a bunch of Psychics? That might be the most unusual family I've ever heard of.

This book was completely character driven, but I still feel like I don't know enough about some characters. Right now, I love almost all the characters, but the characters which intrigue me most are Ronan Lynch and Gansey. But I also love Noah and Adam. And Chainsaw. Ughh, why it's so difficult to choose? Let's just say I love everything about this book.

I had second thoughts when I started this book, but I am glad that I did because this is something you shouldn't miss. Highly recommend it. And I am surely starting the next book soon.
